Plastic-free Packaging and Shipping - A Must for the Future of Fashion
Remember that statistic about lost or tossed hair elastics filling up an entire school bus every single day in the US alone? Tiny things add up. Fortunately for us (and the planet) - tiny good things compound just as quickly (and in the right direction). So while one shipment or package showing up in your mailbox might not seem like a big deal, multiply that by all of your online orders, (not to mention to-go meals, individually-wrapped snacks and pretty much every other item you consume on the regular) and you’ve got a big, messy problem.
The textile industry is a major contributor to the conservative estimate of 175 billion single use plastic bags used annually to pack and ship clothing and accessories. Sure, these pieces pass through a lot of hands and need a barrier to protect them from oil, dirt, humidity, snowstorms... we get that… but there had to be a better way! Well, we found it!
We work with warehouse and shipping partners around the world that are committed to environmentally responsible practices. Every one of these HUBS (USA, Canada, Australia, UK, EU) ships 100% plastic-free on all KOOSHOO orders.
We use FSC certified recycled paper shipping envelopes for most shipments. If you place a larger order, we may choose to ship that order in a recycled-content box and even use paper-based tape to seal it. Tiny changes, big impacts.
Today, every pack of organic cotton Hair Ties, plastic-free Scrunchies and versatile twist Headbands sold from our website ships 100% plastic-free. If we can minimize waste further, we will!
A special shout-out to Free People for listening when we pushed back and approving paper packaging to store our products (yup, they carry KOOSHOO!) in their warehouses. KOOSHOO was the first brand they carry that shipped to them 100% plastic-free. Freeing the planet (and its people!) from what would otherwise be another small but mighty mess.
