The Bracelet: Engineered Like a Rope. Worn Like a Bracelet.
Here at KOOSHOO, reinventing the hair tie is kind of what we do.
It started back in 2010 when we pulled back the curtain on the hair accessory world and didn't exactly love what we saw.
At the time, every single tie on the market was some variation of a plastic sandwich. Most were synthetic elastics wrapped in conventional, pesticide-heavy cotton, while others didn't even bother with the cotton.
After some quick math, we realised that roughly 15 million of these plastic ties were being tossed or lost every single day in the US alone. That's a city bus worth of plastic, daily, just to keep our ponytails in place.
So we created the world's first plastic-free hair ties — our world-famous Flats — and set out to change an industry.
Fourteen years on and we continue to push forward.
Last year we went all-in on luxurious organic cotton satin — a cruelty-free silk alternative — with a line of popular scrunchies that have become instant favourites. This year we returned to the humble hair tie. Our portfolio already featured best-selling Flat and Round hair ties, but we wanted to give you more.
More fashion. More hair health. More stories. More compliments.
The Bracelet Hair Tie is a product of that search. And we're so proud of it.
Meet the Bracelet: Flatter Profile, Wider Hold
Our celebrated Rounds are made by a fourth-generation family business in Japan — a partner that comes from a region famous for its rope-making heritage.
For the first 50+ years of their century of work, that's exactly what they did: made high-quality ropes. When their focus shifted to hair accessories several decades ago, that rope-making lineage stayed in their DNA.
The chevron pattern — the defining feature of the Bracelet — is a rope-making technique adapted to hair ties by our design team, unearthing skills that have been refined across generations.
Eye-catching and, let's face it, genuinely attractive. But that pattern also serves a very important purpose.
It creates texture that grips hair securely without roughness. The woven structure provides natural anchor points, so the tie doesn't slip — even during the sweatiest workouts or longest days.
The real magic is in the physics.
That woven structure and wider profile distribute mechanical stress across the entire tie instead of concentrating it at a single weak point. Less tension on the follicle. Less strain on the hair shaft. A more comfortable hold that doesn't over-tightening to stay put.
And like their rounder sisters, the Bracelet hair ties are built to last — engineered by the same artisans whose proprietary bonding technique makes our Round hair ties 2-3x stronger than any comparable tie on the market.
The Benefits of a Flatter Hair Tie for Healthy Hair
The Bracelet features a flatter profile that makes contact with more of your hair at once.
Instead of a single line of pressure, you get distributed hold across a broader surface. That means a secure grip without needing to pull tight enough to cause strain.
For thick hair, this makes a noticeable difference.
A few wraps. Comfortable hold. Stays put all day.
And because the pressure distributes evenly, there's no crease when you take it down. No dent. No deformation of the hair shaft under concentrated tension.
It just holds — and lets go cleanly.
If you've been dealing with breakage at the tie line, or thinning at the temples from years of over-tightening, understanding traction alopecia and how your hair tie contributes to it is a good place to start. The Bracelet was designed with exactly that in mind.
The Accessory That's Always On Call
We'll be the first to admit that while we love a revolution that benefits the masses, sometimes innovation is simply about making something beautiful that also happens to perform flawlessly.
These are hair ties that just look great. Objectively.
The flatter profile sits sleek rather than bulky — in hair and on wrists. The chevron weave is subtle and gorgeous in equal measure. The neutral colorways work everywhere, from the gym to the office to a dinner reservation you made two months ago.
It looks like a woven bracelet. Because functionally, it is.
Which solves the eternal problem of never having a no-damage hair tie when you need one. Wear all three on your wrist. They'll always be there.
Same Integrity. New Silhouette.
Underneath that beautiful weave, it's still the KOOSHOO quality you know.
The same long-staple organic cotton we've spent a decade perfecting — naturally smoother than synthetic alternatives, creating less friction against the hair cuticle so your hair glides rather than catches. Less friction means less frizz, less breakage, and cuticle scales that stay flatter over time.
It's also dyed using OEKO-TEX certified non-toxic dyes — which matters more than most people realise. Dyes used in conventional textile processing are engineered to bond permanently to fibres. Without certification, there's no verified safety standard for the chemicals sitting against your hairline all day. Every KOOSHOO product meets that standard. The Bracelet is no exception.
Think of it as the newest addition to your hair health toolkit. A great hair routine is built on versatility — having the right tool for the right mood and the right style.
If you've been looking for more grip, less slip, and a hair tie that looks as good as it performs, the Bracelet is ready for its close-up.
