Be Kind. Always.
"Everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always".
I saw this written on a whiteboard the other day. It wasn't attributed to anyone. I'm sure I could do a quick Google search to find an author but somehow that feels like it would undermine the value of the quote in some way.
Why do I say this? To me, a thought like this shouldn't belong to just one person.
Truth is, even the most well adjusted (to the eye) people in our lives are fighting their own battles. The size of that battle isn't of consequence. We each have our tolerances for stress, anxiety, hurt... and it benefits no one imposing the expectations of ourselves on others.
Be kind. Always.
If we were to all go through our lives using this as mantra, imagine the compassion and empathy that would result.
